Way to go Dad!

It's official!  Paul has decided to go out on his own and start his own business with his partner, Marc Berry.  We will be staying here in Texas.  Their company will be offering financial and accounting services to companies.  For example, some of the services they offer are CFO services, accounting services, controller services, and diligence services.  If you want to know more details than that, then you'll have to talk to Paul.

So the next few years will be a new adventure for us.  There are times when we both are a little nervous, but we are excited for the challenge and potential for success.

I'm really excited to know that we will be settled for the next few years while Paul and Marc build the business.  I was happy for them when they sold services to their first client this last Friday.

Here is Hannah giving Paul a congratulatory thumbs up.
Way to go Dad!
Here is Jacob's first attempt at a thumbs up...
Here is his second attempt.
(Maybe he just wanted to say Dad, your #1)
Here's is his last a final attempt.
Who knew a thumbs up could be so hard.  Oh well.
Way to go Dad, you rock!

Texas Cousins!

Hannah and Jacob were very excited to finally spend time playing with their Texas cousins.  My cousin JW baptized his 4 month old little girl Emilie.  We attended the baptism and then enjoyed a luncheon with everyone.

Here is Hannah and Jacob with their cousins Mackenzie and Aidan.  Mckenzie and Aiden are both almost 3.  Aiden in JW's son and Mackenzie is Tashia's daughter.  They had so much fun running around and playing together.  We are going to try and get together more often.
Paul and I had fun visiting with Tashia and her husband, JW and Melissa, and Aunt Doreen and Uncle Tom.  THe kids kept themselves busy playing cars.  It was nice to catch up on everyone's busy lives.
Hannah and Mackenzie started acting a little crazy after all the icing they ate with their cake.  Hurray for Texas cousins!!  We hope to them all again soon!

Happy Birthday Jacob!!

Two years ago I was surprised by the arrival of Mr. Jacob.  He decided to come 5 weeks early!   This past weekend we celebrated Jacob's 2nd birthday.

We were happy to have Grandpa and Grandma Oman come visit for Jacob's birthday.  Jacob wasn't quite sure what this birthday thing was that everyone kept talking about.  But when the day finally arrived he figured it out, and loved the presents, cake, and ice cream.  Then he was the one saying "Happy Birthday!"
Some of Jacob's favorite things to do are play make believe, push buttons, throw rocks, dig in the dirt, play with water, play with daddy's tools, go for motorcycle rides, play at the park and ride his tricycle.  Some of Jacob's favorite characters are Thomas the Train, Bob the Builder, Blues Clues, Sid the Science Kid, Little Einsteins, Super Why, the Little People characters, and Play Mobile characters.

We love having Jacob in our family.  He has a very sweet personality.  He is great at giving hugs and kisses and is usually very willing to share everything.  Although Jacob comes across as mild mannered he does have tons of curious energy that seems to make a lot of naughty messes, and keep me on my toes.  He is a super quite and fast as he disappears down isle of the stores and into rooms of the house he shouldn't be in.  But his super cute smile and loveable personality make it hard to stay mad at him for very long.

Happy Birthday, my little, big guy!
