Starting Out

Well after several requests from family and friends that are like family, I have finally decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated on our family happenings.
Paul and I started our family out on July 14, 2000 when we were married in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. We enjoyed our first married years at BYU in Provo, where Paul graduated with his undergraduate degree in Finance. In our spare time we went hiking, camping, and played on co-ed basketball and softball teams. Paul also played on an intramural football team while I enjoyed playing on the intramural basketball team.

We then decided to take a job with Ernst & Young in Boston. We spent the next 3 1/2 years enjoying the East Coast. We spent two of the summers while were were there in Charlottesville, Virginia at the University of Virginia. Where I enjoyed easy jobs, working out, playing basketball, and not cooking; while Paul studied his guts out and earned his Master of Accountancy. He did manage to make time for us to play basketball together, play on a co-ed softball team, go hiking, and mountain biking. He also took up playing the guitar while we were there.
We loved working and living in Boston. It is still my favorite city. We loved to walk around the city, eat out at the restaurants, and take walks on the pier and beaches. We even managed to find a good place to go mountain biking. We had fun gutting a 1930 house and remodeling it, all while we lived in it. We still took time to play basketball together and play on my company's softball team. It was a great adventure. Paul worked for Ernst & Young and then ASCOA. I worked for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
We were blessed with our little girl Hannah on April 26, 2005. We were so happy to have her finally join our family. A short 3 months later we decided to move to the Woodlands, Texas. We enjoy the family community we live in, the parks, the pools, the walking paths, the great schools, our church, and our friends that have become like family.
Our son Jacob was born here on October 4, 2006. We are so happy to have one little girl and one little boy! Hannah and Jacob are such a joy and blessing in our lives.
Hannah is so smart. She learns very quickly and picks up on everything. It makes me very careful about what I say, do, and expose her to. She loves playing with her friends, singing, dancing, and anything to do with a princess. She would wear dresses all day everyday if I let her. (She definitely does not get that from me or, thankfully, not from Paul either). Hannah also has a great imagination. Before she had cute princess toys to play make believe with, she would play make believe with a spoon and fork. The spoon was the princess and the fork was the prince.
Jacob is ALL BOY! (Which I wouldn't want any other way.) He keeps me on my toes. He likes to throw balls, play in the dirt, dance, sing, and play with anything that has a button he can push. (And I am not excluded from his button pushing) He is very quick at running away and getting into things that make messes that sometimes have me questioning if I am really a responsible adult.
Some of our favorite family activities are going to the pool, library, parks, picnics, camping, and boating.
Hopefully that gives you a little background on our family and you are a little closer to learning "The Oman Family Identity".
